A. S. King launching her new book!

I am so happy to plug this wonderful writer (A.S. King) and her new book, “Please Ignore Vera Dietz”

Summary: Is it okay to hate a dead kid?
Even if I loved him once?
Even if he was my best friend?
Is it okay to hate him for being dead?
Vera’s spent her whole life secretly in love with her best friend, Charlie Kahn. And over the yeas she’s kept a lot of his secrets. Even after he betrayed her. Even after he ruined everything.
So when Charlie does in dark circumstances, Vera knows a lot more than anyone — the kids at school, his family, even the police. But will she emerge to clear his name? Does she even want to?
Edgy and gripping, Please Ignore Vera Dietz is an unforgettable novel: smart, funny, dramatic, and always surprising. — Knopf

I was lucky enough to have read this book before it came out and can honestly say I really enjoyed it. Amy regales us with quirky characters, realistic settings, and issues that many teens face every day. From the death of her best friend, to her run away mother, and recovering alcoholic father, Vera is forced to come to grips with life as she knows it.

All this may sound really depressing, but Amy tells it in a way that is funny, uplifting, and understandable. The story is told mostly in Vera’s point of view, but on occasion, her dead friend, Charlie, steps in to relate his part of the story, giving a new perspective.

If you’re looking for an edgy, quirky, well-written story, I recommend “Please Ignore Vera Dietz”. And I can’t wait to chat with Amy about it on Saturday evening as she launches the new book at Aaron’s Books (www.aaronsbooksonline) in Lancaster County, PA.
